KBI’s Torah reader cadre's presence is requested for a special workshop with Cantor Green designed to help readers of all experience levels refine the precision and beauty of their layning. We will explore the fascinating nuances of the trope and the Torah text that often go unnoticed but deeply impact the meaning of the Torah we read.
Topics include:
Pausal Power: Understanding how trope functions as punctuation to preserve the true narrative of the text.
The Elusive Kamatz Katan: Learning to identify when a Kamatz takes on the "o" sound (as in Choch-ma) versus the standard "ah" sound.
Mastering the Accent: How distinguishing between Milel (penultimate) and Milra (last syllable) stresses can completely change a word's meaning.
The Rules of Sh’va: Demystifying the Sh’va Na vs. Sh’va Nach to know exactly when a vowel should be voiced or silent.
And more!
