KBI Youth Code of Conduct and parental permission
As legal guardian, I hereby grant permission for my child to attend the KBI-sponsored event
La Ronde 2025

My Child and I are familiar with the KBI youth standards of conduct outlined below.
In connection with Kehillat Beth Israel programs, including travel to and from this program:
There is to be no smoking or vaping. There is to be no possession of cigarettes, e-cigarettes or any associated liquid or paraphernalia.
There is to be no possession or use of any narcotics, marijuana, illegal drugs or prescription drugs not prescribed for the user, or matches, firecrackers (or similar devices), knives, sharp or dangerous objects.
There will be no possession or consumption of any alcoholic beverages.
There will be no shoplifting or theft of any kind.
If a USYer is caught in possession of/or found to have used alcohol or illegal drugs or vaping liquid or vaping paraphernalia or is caught shoplifting and/or involved in theft of any kind, he/she will immediately be sent home at his/her parents’ expense. The USYer's chapter and region reserve the right to impose additional sanctions in connection with this or any other improper behavior as it sees fit up to a maximum consequence of being suspended for an entire year from all Regional and International USY programming.
At no time are male identifying participants permitted in sleeping rooms or on floors occupied by female identifying participants and at no time are female identifying participants permitted in sleeping rooms or on floors occupied by male identifying participants. Non-binary participants must remain on floors/sleeping rooms with the gender of their choice or with other non-binary participants.
Each participant is expected to maintain proper decorum and attitude during the entire program. Disruptive behavior (including, but not limited to, inappropriate sexual behavior) will not be tolerated. Any inappropriate messages or content shared by anyone in any manner will be considered a violation of the code of conduct. Your parents will be responsible to pay for any damage you may cause.
No participant may leave the event except at such times as those specified by the schedule (if such times are specified) or with the express permission of the Cantor and Rabbi or designated staff member. All participants must be at all scheduled programs and during specified free time, remain within boundaries set forth by the Cantor and Rabbi or the designated staff member. At curfew, all participants must return to their assigned room / bunk / host home and remain there until the program resumes the next day.
Each participant is expected to conduct him/her/themself appropriately as a Conservative Jew (including through observance of Shabbat and Kashrut), in accordance with the applicable USY Guide to Religious Practices and/or the local Rabbinic Authority.
Participant is expected to adhere to the dress code as stipulated by USY Guide to Religious Practices. Specifically, clothing on which profanity or inappropriate language, pictures, or symbols are written, printed, or depicted is prohibited. Clothing cannot be made of see-through material and undergarments should not be visible. Clothing, including bathing suits, should be of an appropriate length.
I acknowledge and am willing to assume and accept any risks associated with my child’s participation in any aspect of this event, and I agree that the terms of this waiver will likewise bind me, my child, my heirs, legals representatives, and assignees. I release and will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Kehillat Beth Israel, KBI, its directors, owners, agents, employees, and volunteers from every claim and any liability that I or my child may allege against the releasees including reasonable legal fees and cost as a direct or indirect result of harm to my child while s/he is in the care of KBI.
